For individuals who selected EI

Your Social Insurance Number will be used by Canada to help monitor and assess the EI program and the Service Provider to request approval to continue to receive regular EI benefits in order to take part in training programs and other employment activities.

Eligibility Conditions

1. Must be 16 years of age and if serving Alcohol must be 18 and Smart Serve Certified
2. Must have an interest to work in restaurants
3. Ability to work flexible hours (some roles may require staff between 8am-2am)
4. Strong inter-personal skills as they will be interacting with guests and staff
5. Exceptional work ethic to learn the role and able to put in the hours to learn the role
6. Wants the experience of working in the restaurant sector where they can develop a career


Back of House

The Back of House (BOH) encompasses all the behind-the-scenes areas of the restaurant.

The training program will cover cooking fundamentals and prepare you for an entry level position, such as a prep cook, working in the kitchen.

Front of House

The Front of House (FOH) involves everything that directly affects the guest experience.

The training program will cover the fundamentals of restaurant customer service and prepare you for an entry level position, such as a server assistant, working in the dining room.
